A Visit From The Blacksmith

We had a very interesting visit from a blacksmith today . Richard from Heritage in Schools came with portable forge and anvil to show us a small piece of blacksmith craft. We made a pendant and a brooch from history. We got to use the bellows to heat the fire and hammer to flatten it into shape. Richard showed us how to create curved lines and demonstrated the chisel and tongs.
